In order to get your Planning Center Online (PCO) account connected to your ChurchCo website, you'll need to grab the API information. In this article, we'll show you step by step how to do that.
1. First go to the PCO API dashboard.
To get your API Keys log into your Planning Center Account and go to
https://api.planningcenteronline.com/oauth/applications. You'll see a Developer API dashboard with and option for "My Developer Applications" and "Personal Access Tokens." Select Create one now in the Personal Access Tokens box.
2. Add a New Personal Access Token Description
When creating your new Personal Access Token, add a name in the description that makes sense to the purpose you are creating it for. In this instance, you can use something like TheChurchCo website integration. Add a description and click Submit.
3. Grab your Application ID and Secret Key
After you submit the New Personal Access Token, your Application ID and Secret Key will be generated automatically. These are the long strings of characters that you will copy from PCO. Copy each one and save it to a notepad on your desktop, or you can do one at a time. Just be sure to keep track of which string of text is your Application ID and which is the Secret Key. Copy these now.
4. Select Planning Center in Add Ons & Integrations
Next, go to your ChurchCo dashboard and find Planning Center in the Add Ons & Integrations tab. We've made it pretty easy to find.
5. Add Your Planning Center Information
Once you are in the PCO Add On, enter your PCO church ID. The church ID is the first part of your Church Center url. For example, if your url is yourchurch.churchcenter.com, then just enter "yourchurch" in the Church ID box.
Then, paste the Application ID and the Secret Key. Click Save Changes and you're all set!
You did it! Your website now has all it needs to communicate with PCO. Simply use the Page Builder to add Events and Groups blocks to the page and sync those blocks with PCO.
